I didn't get up at the crack of dawn today, I was enjoying the peace of my secluded desert campsite. When I did finally get back to the highway it was 8:30am and already quite hot with the sun beating down. About 10 kilometers later I arrived in a little pueblito called Rosalito where I got a coffee and played with a puppy at a roadside restaurant.
Even though there was a fair amount of climbing along the coast today I took it pretty easy. I knew Mulegé wasn't too far away so I stopped to enjoy the view at several beaches. I came across a number of coves whose beaches were packed with RV's from the US. I thought about trying to camp at one of them but I needed to find a decent-sized store for supplies and none were materializing. I ended up riding all the way to Mulegé where on the outskirts of town I stopped at a store called Tienda Vista, I chatted with the Celia the owner for a while about my trip. Shortly thereafter I stopped at a campground, dropped my stuff, and headed into Mulegé to shop. Back at the campground I met a German couple on BMWs who started in Buenos Aires 3 years ago, rode up to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, and are now hanging out for a bit in Mexico. I made a huge dinner, took a badly needed shower, then lights out.
