A few more lung-popping climbs in the morning then I'm through the Schwarzwald and on my way to Frieburg. I somehow manage to get terribly lost but am rescued by three very attractive young German ladies hiking in the forest who give me directions back out.

I make it a short day so I can do laundry and some other chores. I get a cheap hotel with an attic room. The lady working the desk says I look 10 years younger than my passport photo. Vive le vélo!.
