The nice woman at the inn charges me 35 euros instead of 38 in the morning and gives me lots of tips for today's ride. After a few hours I see a bike shop next to the old canal; I stop to have them look at the chain and buy new pedals. Metal ones instead of plastic this time, one of the plastic ones has cracked. They mechanic adjusts the cables and says the chain should be good for another 1,000 kilometers. Being totally clueless about bicycles I'm trying to stay on top of stuff. 10 euros for the pedals and the adjustments. I grab the first hotel in Kelheim, at 45 euros it's a bit dear, but I'm too tired to go looking for something cheaper.
