The storm continues today, with more snow but mostly freezing rain, it all adds up to not much fun on a bicycle. I make it into Clearmont-Ferrand and give up at the first hotel. Dinner in the hotel restaurant is surreal; it's a room full of tables for one, each seat occupied by a man traveling for work. The place is a factory for single travelers on business trips. I eat as fast as I can, just like everyone else, no one making eye contact, then I head straight for my room. Looking forward to getting to my friends' house tomorrow.
