A visit to the complex built to memorialize Chiang Kai-shek. My immediate impression on entering the grounds: there must be/have been quite a cult of personality surrounding this individual.
The "Gate of Great Centrality and Perfect Uprightness".
National Theater.
Memorial Hall.
National Concert Hall.
Small park next to monument plaza.
Squirrels are slightly different here, darker with redish tails.
Another one.
Not sure what this is but he was not impressed with us. We could have walked up and patted him on the head.
Memorial Hall.
The plaza from the top of Memorial Hall stairs. National Concert Hall on the right, National theater on the left, gate at the far end.
Cieling, Memorial Hall.
Chiang Kai-shek.
Honor guard next to Chiang's statue, standing still like the guards at Buckingham Palace, only here it is about 33 degrees celcius (about 91 Fahrenheit) with 70% humidity. Beads of sweat were running down his face.
